Meet Katie
Artist, Trauma Informed Coach and Teacher
Hello, I'm Katie, and I'm here to support and guide the cleft community to find peace and understanding in their journey. I offer a range of services, including art, coaching, workshops, and teaching, to help those affected by cleft feel seen and heard.
Although cleft can impact one's life, it doesn't define who they are. I believe that cleft children are strong and beautiful individuals. They are cycle breakers, paving the way for a more accepting and inclusive society.
With over 20 years of experience as an Secondary Art Textiles teacher, I took a leap of faith in 2019 and became an artist in my own right. It was through this journey that I discovered the incredible cleft community, and I saw a huge gap in understanding cleft and its impact. That's when I created the Cleft Warrior Woman, with the goal of providing an empowered, trauma-informed perspective to support everyone within the cleft community.
I offer Trauma Informed Coaching, drawing on my personal experiences and expertise in Brainspotting to provide 1-1 coaching sessions. I also offer courses for parents with cleft-born children. Additionally, the 100 Smiles project, which is open to anyone born with a cleft, is a testament to the beauty and strength of the cleft community.
If you need someone to talk to or have questions about the services I offer, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I'm here for you.
With love,
Katie xx

I discovered her amazing abilities and great compassion for cleft babies. She agreed to draw my baby boy and have his story part of an exhibit for the journeys of clefts! This woman does amazing work for so many people! I'm so thankful and joyful to be part of this!
